We’ve been commercial photographers for more than a decade now. When we first started out, it was hard to find serious evidence – numbers, graphs, percentages – that proved professional photography was worth clients’ investment.
Now? It is everywhere you look.
In real estate sales, especially, the value of professional photography is no longer a secret. Agencies of all sizes are realizing that to compete in sales, they have to show properties at their best.
And that takes a professional photographer.
But, we promised you numbers. Here are some of the most eye-popping stats we’ve come across lately, courtesy of the real estate specialists over at AgentImpress:
- Buyers spend 60% of their time looking at listing photos, and only 20% each on the listing description and agent description (The Wall Street Journal).
- Listings with professional photos receive 118% more online views (IMOTO PHOTO).
- Agents who outsource photography earn twice as much commission as those who do not. Only 35% of agents use professional photographers for every listing (Inman.com).
That last stat really jumps out to us. Professional photography is quickly becoming essential for realtors, but 35% is a pretty low percentage! There’s still time for agencies to set themselves apart by offering what their competitors haven’t caught onto.
